We're excited to introduce HuntStand version 8.0.0, packed with enhancements designed to improve your experience. Below, I've included detailed steps to help you get started with the new app. As always, please submit a request to contact our support team if you have any questions.
Getting Started on the New HuntStand App
Hunt Areas:
Hunt Areas are the core of the app. Every screen, from the Mapping screen to HuntZone, centers on the location you registered as your Hunt Area. You can easily toggle between Hunt Areas on any screen or by tapping the Current Hunt Area banner at the top of the main screen.
To create a Hunt Area:
- Tap the Current Hunt Area banner at the top of the main screen.
- Select + ADD A HUNT AREA.
- Drop a pin on the map to register your Hunt Area. You can also search for a location using the magnifying glass icon or use the crosshairs to select your current location.
- Once a location has been determined, tap SET LOCATION, enter the Hunt Area name and details (optional) and then tap SAVE.
Please note that you should not attempt to build your map on the New Hunt Area screen.
New! Change Hunt Area Location:
On the new version of HuntStand, you can easily update the registered location of your Hunt Area by following the directions below.
- Tap the Current Hunt Area banner at the top of the main screen.
- Select MANAGE HUNT AREAS.
- Select the Hunt Area you wish to modify, then tap Hunt Area Settings.
- Tap the crosshairs icon to the right of the coordinates and select or search for the desired location.
- Once a new location has been determined, tap SAVE. To lock in your changes, tap SAVE again.
Building Your Hunt Area:
Visit the Mapping screen to add markers, draw lines and shapes, trace your movements, and more. Tap the + button on the bottom toolbar to add objects to your map. For additional tools, such as HuntZone, LandZone, and measurement features, select the TOOLS option. You can always center the map on your location by tapping the crosshairs icon on the bottom right.
Map Layers:
Use the Layers button on the lower-left side of the Mapping screen to toggle between different map layers. For the first time, you can overlay multiple layers such as Property Info and Hunting Lands with satellite imagery. Only one overlay can be active at a time.
Property Info:
Access property boundaries and owner information by selecting Property Info under OVERLAYS in the Layers screen. To search for properties, use the magnifying glass icon from the TOOLS screen.
New! Automatic Hunt Area Syncing:
With version 8.0.0, there's no need to manually sync your Hunt Areas. All syncing happens automatically, so your data is always backed up and available across devices.
Share Your Hunt Areas:
Share your Hunt Area with others to create a Group Hunt Area. You can send and accept Sharing Invitations on the Manage Hunt Area screen on the app. To do this:
- While connected to Wi-Fi or data, tap the Current Hunt Area banner at the top of your screen.
- Tap MANAGE HUNT AREAS > MY OWN to view the Hunt Areas you own.
- Select the Hunt Area you want to share, then tap Share Hunt Area.
- Search for a user by name or email, set their permission level (View-Only, Member, Admin), and tap OK.
Access Maps Offline:
With an active HuntStand subscription, you can download maps for offline use. Here's how:
- Ensure you're connected to Wi-Fi or data.
- From the main screen, select the Hunt Area you want to download using the Current Hunt Area drop-down menu.
- Tap the Options menu (three horizontal lines in the top-right) or swipe right to select Offline Maps.
- Tap DOWNLOAD MAP REGION and adjust the map to cover the area you need.
- Tap Download, name your offline map, and submit.
To access your downloaded maps without service, visit the Mapping screen and scroll to the saved location. Selecting the nearest Hunt Area to your offline map is recommended.
